Once you and your significant other have become engaged, you will then be faced with the somewhat stressful tasks that go along with planning and executing your wedding. When you announce your engagement to your friends and family, the most common response will be, what day will the wedding happen? and where are you planning on hosting your wedding? With the great amount of wedding venues available in the state of Connecticut, choosing the perfect wedding venue for your most important day can prove to be a very daunting task.
In recent blog posts we have showcased our favorite wedding venues locations in the state, such as The Burr Mansion in Fairfield, The Waveny House in New Canaan, Gallaher Mansion at Cranbury Park in Norwalk, and Lighthouse Point in New Haven. These are all exceptional wedding venue locations that each offer their own unique amenities and characteristics. Another excellent wedding reception venue that is best suited for a smaller sized wedding partys and for beach lovers, is the Jacky Durrell Pavilion at Penfield Beach in Fairfield, Connecitcut, which allows seasonal rentals from the months of April through early October.
The Jacky Durrell Pavilion Banquet Facility is a building that is detached from the main Penfield Pavilion. Unfortunately the Penfield Pavilion is currently closed due to the damage incurred by Storm Sandy and is scheduled to reopen in July of 2016. The Jacky Durrell Pavilion is a building that provides direct waterfront access to the ocean and Penfield Beach. It is built to comfortably host up to 125 guests and provides a nice sized commercial kitchen. The actual measurements of the interior of the pavilion is 44 X 44. Unfortunately, it does have a heating or air conditioning system. However, there is a fireplace that will keep your guests warm in the Fall season and a consistent pleasant ocean breeze for the warmer summer months.
If you are planning a wedding for next year, and the 125 person capacity of the Jacy Durell Pavilion is not enough to accommodate your party, you will have the option to move your wedding to the Penfield Pavilion which as previously mentioned is slated to open next year. The Penfield Pavilion was approved for a $6 million reconstruction project by the Representative Fairfield Town Meeting. The Penfield Pavilion is currently under construction and expectations are high that once it completed it will be more elegant and functional than ever!
